【英語】自己紹介の表現

　今回は、英語で自己紹介をする際に使える表現を紹介します。自己紹介の表現を覚えて初対面の相手に自分のことをしっかり伝えられるようになりましょう。

基本の自己紹介

Hello. My name is 〇〇.
Nice to meet you.

◯「Hello」や「Hi」で始めます。
◯ 「My name is 〜.」で自分の名前を言います。「I’m 〜.」を用いるとよりカジュアルな言い方になります。

自分の出身を伝える

・I’m from Tokyo.
「私は東京出身です」

・I come from Saitama, Japan.
「私は日本の埼玉の出身です」

・I was born and raised in Chiba.
「私は生まれも育ちも千葉です」

・I grew up in Kanagawa.
「私は神奈川で育ちました」

年齢や職業を伝える

・I’m 20 years old.
「私は20歳です」

・I’m in my twenties.
「私は20代です」

・I’m a student.
「私は学生です」

・I work as a teacher.
「私は教師として働いています」

・I’m a doctor.
「私は医者です」

・I work for a publisher.
「私は出版社で働いています

◯ 職業を言うときは「I’m a / an 〜.」と言う表現を使います。
◯「I work for 〜」でも職業を言うことができます。

趣味を伝える

・I like playing baseball.
「私は野球をするのが好きです」

・I like watching TV.
「私はテレビを見るのが大好きです」

・I’m interested in science.
「私は科学に興味がある」

・My hobby is cooking.
「私の趣味は料理です」

・In my free time, I enjoy reading.
「私は暇な時に読書をします」

◯「〜するのが好き」とを言う場合は「I like 〜ing.」と表現します。
◯ 自分の興味があることは「I’m interested in 〜.」と表現します。

夢や目標を伝える

・My dream is to become a teacher.
「私の夢は教師になることです」

・I want to travel the world.
「私は世界中を旅したいです」

・I hope to start my own business.
「私は起業をしたいと思っています」

・Someday, I’d like to live in Canada.
「私はいつかカナダに住みたいです」

◯「I want to 〜.」は「I’d like to 〜.」よりもカジュアルな表現です。

自己紹介の例

【例１】

Hello. I’m 〇〇. Nice to meet you.
I’m from Tokyo, Japan. I’m 16 years old and a high school student.
I love playing football and reading books.
Someday, I want to be an author.

【例２】

Hello, my name is 〇〇.
I’m from Japan and currently living in London.
I work as a doctor at ABC Hospital.
I have been in this hospital for tree years.
In my free time, I enjoy watching movies and traveling.
I’m looking forward to working with you.

【例３】

Hi, everyone. My name is 〇〇.
I’m from Tokyo, Japan.
I’m studying English because I want to travel abroad/
I love trying new food and meeting new people/
I hope to make a lot of friends here.
